Key to the Cure
A crowd of about 250 attended the Oct. 21 event at Saks Fifth Avenue to support breast cancer research. The mostly female crowd enjoyed a Champagne breakfast followed by a moving message from breast cancer survivor Katie Mueller.
Saks presented a Best of Saks fashion show, including Etro, Oscar de la Renta, Akris, Dolce and Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, Michael Kors, Burberry and more. The day concluded with a shopping extravaganza and makeup stations, where attendees enjoyed mini-makeovers.
Saks general manager Larry Buchanan generously donated 2 percent of sales Thurs., Oct. 20, through Sun., Oct. 23, to support the cause. The recipient of this year’s funds is TGen (Translational Genomics Research Institute).
